Rainy Days and Mondays

We would like to introduce two of our new designers. Melissa Snyder Wood and Rebecca Snyder are sisters that have combined forces to create Melimba & Beccabury.
They come from a long line of quilters and grew up in a crafty environment. In turn, they developed a love for anything with great design and color.
They have continued their interest in the arts at Brigham Young University where Melissa
received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing and Rebecca is
currently working toward her degree in Graphic Design. Several years
ago, Melissa gave Rebecca a few drawing lessons. Umbrellas were the subject of choice, and they have since
doodled and played around creating many different types. From those
sketches, "Rainy Days and Mondays" (their debut line) was created. The
title is taken from a song by The Carpenters... a nod to their mom's favorite musical duo.
She couldn't be prouder.
Although
Melissa lives in Texas with her husband and two children, don't be
surprised if you see them up in Utah frequently visiting Rebecca and
the rest of their family.
A must on the to-do-list is visiting all the
awesome fabric stores the state has to offer.
They
are thrilled about making fabric, having excuses to scour the library
and internet for inspiration, and of course, having yet another topic
to talk about long distance on the phone.
Thanks Melissa and Becca! We met this sister duo last summer and loved their take on umbrellas, you can really see their fun personality in their retro umbrella fabric line. We are glad to have them as part of the Riley Blake Design team and looking forward to the arrival of "Rainy Days and Mondays" due out the end of this month.
