Minnesota

Jina and I headed out of town for The Creative Connection Event in Minnesota which starts today.  Here is a picture of the Mississippi river out our hotel window.  I had forgotten that the Mississippi river begins in Minnesota.

We came a day early so we could visit with Jon and Kim, the owners of October Afternoon.  Great things coming your way from them!  But we were able to stop by a fabric store in Historic St. Paul, just a few minutes from our hotel.  Yes, they carry Riley Blake fabric plus finished goods available for purchase.  I had to get this Hooty Hoot bib.  This next photo I like to call Hoot Hoot takes a trip to St. Paul.

Below is the store we stopped by on Grand Street in Historic St. Paul. It has been in business for 35 years.

They had just recently received our Indian Summer Dreamy fabric (Minky).

But….I was in trouble when I found out they carried vintage buttons.  I have a weakness for vintage buttons.

These buttons range from the 1850’s to the early 1900.  Love them!  Had to have them.

Did I also mention I have a weakness for all things lemon.  We were directed to this lunch spot just down the street from Treadle Yard Goods.  They had great soups and salads….but shut the front door… if they did not have the best Lemon Cream Cake.  Love Minnesota!
