Fabric and Fun in New Orleans

Posted by Cindy on Monday, March 5th, 2012

Bret and I recently went to New Orleans and enjoyed the food, the music and the architecture.

This is Emeril's kitchen in New Orleans...the best food around.

The live Jazz music made us melt in our seats.

And the beautiful homes located by Tulane University made us stop and stare.

I love the colors of this store front....I will never get tired of red and aqua.

The buildings lined up in the french quarter where charming both in color and design.

It was work with a little pleasure, as we participated in the SDTA show. We unexpectedly needed some fabric for our booth table so we visited Mes Amis in New Orleans. Mes Amis, means "My friends" in french, and is an up and coming quilt shop that carries our fabric.

This is Denise Taylor the Owner.  She was affected by hurricane Katrina and lost everything in her home. Denise started her Quilt shop 2 years ago and recently received an award from the city for her store.

Denise pulled out a sewing machine so I could make and a quick table cloth.

Thank you Denise for your southern hospitality.

We really love our stores, wherever they may be!
