Thank a firefighter today!

We love our firefighters.  This was our Alpine mountainside one week ago....we feel very blessed to have received rain 2 days after the fire started.

This home was saved by the valiant efforts of our firefighters, the area around this home was completely burned.

House saved from fire

We are left with a mountainside that is charred, but everyone in Alpine is safe....thanks to our hardworking firefighters, emergency crews, and the welcomed rain.

  1. A lady has started a quilt collection for people affected by the wild fires this year. Here's her blog:

  4. Some local firefighters (Southcentral PA) just returned from fighting the CO blazes. They commented on the news that, in all their years of fire-fighting, they had never been surrounded by such wonderful local homeowners. That you were kind and considerate and so appreciative of all their efforts. They were incredibly touched by your genuineness and concern for them and their welfare. I thought you would want to know. And, while I'm not sure where they were in CO, I am sure that you are surrounded by some pretty incredible people.

  5. I have to agree. My niece's husband is a firefighter and their families sacrifice a lot too. So thank a Firefighter and the family that supports them.

  6. Thank you for posting this. My sister lived in Alpine and I have great memories of being there with her and her family. So glad to hear everyone is okay.
