Project Design Team Wednesday~Bow Pocket Tutorial
Posted by administrator on Wednesday, September 5th, 2012
If there is one thing that we like to make over at Simple Simon and Company it would be skirts.
(Lots and lots of skirts.)
We think that skirts are the perfect sewing project for anyone from beginners to advanced seamstresses and today we are sharing two simple ways to embellish any skirt.
Elizabeth and I will each be using some of Riley Blake's solid fabrics (they have some of the most delicious colors) with a detail from one of our favorite lines.
Elizabeth will be going first with her Bow Pocket Tutorial.
There are two things right now that I am loving....bows and polka dots. So I combined my love of both to make a cute pocket on a back-to-school skirt for my brand new 2nd grader.
The main fabric on the skirt is from Riley Blake's solids collection, Pepper and the bow pocket is Red dot from the Seaside Line. I am in LOVE with their stripes and polka dots.....they literally have dots in almost all of their fabric lines and they are so darling!!!!
If you want to make a bow pocket to add to a simple skirt (or anything else for that matter)....here is what you will need.
And here is what you will do....
And you are done! With a cute bow pocket to add just the right amount of detail to a simple skirt!
Are you all in love with polka dots as much as I am?
~Elizabeth
Now as for our other project---liZ is over at Simple Simon and Company sharing how to create a draped bunting design across the side of any skirt.
It's a good day---we love skirts, solid fabrics, and fun details.
Thanks for letting us share the things that we like so much!
