Project Design Team Wednesday~ I M Happy

26 Dec 2012

Last week I was in a department store when I witnessed a mini tamper tantrum from a very spirited 3 year old. Her Mumm scolded her firmly but gently... "Emma, be happy, it's Christmas"   Well wee Emma, stomped her feet, and with such a frown,  bellowed out  " I M Happy"...   All of us that witnessed this outburst -smiled at the Mumm We all were quite familiar with these moments ! Possibly had the same outcomes....lol   As I completed my shopping, I kept thinking of  WEE Emma .   As soon as I arrived home, I got my sketch pad out and ... ...read more

Who is still working like mad to get their sewing projects done for Christmas? Here is my pile of fabric and I have a 3 days. I always think I will have more time, get more done, and have more to show for my efforts... But I did just pick up a quilt from the quilter for my son (thanks Connie).... and I had her add a little something from me.  Hopefully my early teen will not mind a little sentiment from his mom mixed with his sport quilt. I also just finished last night my advent calendar I know ... ...read more

It is with a grateful heart that tomorrow we donate $21,800  to Autism Speaks and the Carmen B. I have a nephew with Autism.  He is sweet, curious, smart, but does not speak.  We try and connect with him and see into his world.

Christmas Fabric lights

30 Nov 2012

Since tomorrow is December 1st...I thought I would share this fun Christmas idea brought to you from Chrissy (on staff at Riley Blake Designs).  Given to her by her sister, these Christmas lights are embellished with fabric ties.  It is only one set of regular Christmas lights with strips of fabric. The fabric is 1" wide and 4 1/2" long strips, tied between the lights. 5 strips of fabric between each light. It would probably not meet fire code, so I would not leave it unattended. But isn't cute, you could do this with any holiday fabric ... ...read more

27 Nov 2012

Hi There! It's Melissa from the Polka Dot Chair blog and Fourteen May. I'm excited to be sharing with you another tutorial as part of Riley Blake's Design Team. I decided to make a simple little bag, one that I think would be perfect for a little girl. When my sister was visiting last summer she said she wished she had a little purse for her 2 year old. One that didn't snap, or zip or close... since her 2 yr old hands had a hard time with those kinds of things. So the Ruby Lou ... ...read more
