Project Design Team Wednesday~Simple Basket Liners

13 Jun 2012

Hi everyone! I’m Tam from Sew Dang Cute, and I’m thrilled to be back here to share another tutorial with you.
Headshot April '12

Last time I made a quilt, so this time I wanted to do something a little more simple, and went with basket liners. My son’s toys have been in desperate need of storage, so these were just the ticket! The genius behind the baskets part comes from Amy of Positively Splendid with her canvas-covered diaper boxes tutorial. So I started out with a couple of empty diaper boxes. Then following Amy’s tutorial, I lined them ... more

Project Design Team Wednesday~Bohemian Skirt

06 Jun 2012

Hi. I'm Char from

Today I am sharing a super easy skirt tutorial using Lila Tueller's new  Bohemian Festival fabric .     First you'll want to measure the waist of the intended wearer. Determine the finished length you want the skirt to be. Yardage requirements Provided the waist of the wearer is under 29”, you will need 2 times the finished length plus 5”. For example, I wanted my skirt to be 15” long so I needed 2 X 15” (30”) plus 5” or 35”/approximately 1 yard. Additional notions Thread 1 1/2” or 2” elastic piece equal ... more

Project Design Team Wednesday: Clothes Peg Bag

30 May 2012

For years we lived in a Metropolitan city whereby clothes lines of any kind were strictly forbidden.  When we moved to wine country, one of the first things I asked... "can we have a clothes line?"  It would have been a deal breaker if the answer had been NO.    I have a clothes line lol.    SEW, I love clothes PEG bags, I have never found one I liked, all of them just a bit dowdy for me... I have made many of these in a slew of diff't colours, each year, I have a FAV.  THIS YEAR--- IT WILL ... more

Ranch Quilt

29 May 2012

This photo cracks me up.  "Chip, The Wonder horse" is holding perfectly still while it appears (almost) that a quilt is floating above him(or her).   "Blueberry, the Super Dog" is sightly underneath the horse and gives a quick pause to look at the camera. How long it took to create this photo I don't know but I love it and I love the quilt.  The piecing and quilting are beautiful and with the added words this is a perfect gift for any cowboy in your life.

Shelly Pagliai (Polly-Eye) from Prairie Moon Quilts designed this quilt.  Visit Cutting ... more

A day to remember

28 May 2012

I love memorial day for so many reasons. It is a beautiful thing to have a day to remember our loved ones and to remember the men and women who have made great sacrifices for this country. Many have made the ultimate sacrifice.  On this special day we thank all persons who serve and have served in the United Forces of the United States of America. more
