A day to Remember

I wanted to write a little about 9.11.  It was a somber day of remembrance yesterday.  Our family lived in upstate New York when the tragedy happened. I did not know anyone personally that died, but my next door neighbor did.  My neighbor's friend had a son that worked at the world trade center. He was above where the plane hit and knew that he would not get out.  He was able to talk with his Mom before the collapse and say his goodbyes.  It still makes my heart ache to recall the events.

 I was invited to a get-together with a whole bunch of creative women from Utah. It was held at the Vintage Cupcake shop in Ogden, Utah   Yes, they had me at vintage. ...Here is Michelle, the owner of Vintage Cupcake Co.

Look at one of her beautiful cakes.  Check out our Zoo Dwellers Quilt Tutorial on Cutting Corners College.

We are pleased to announce that Carina Gardner has joined our design team. We have long admired her work and feel she brings a new and exciting look to Riley Blake Designs.

Carina has a wealth a talent, She has a MA and Ph.D. in Design from the University of Minnesota. She has taught Graphic Design Foundations, Typography, Design Theory, and Packaging Design for five years at the University of Minnesota.
