45" x 57"
Hi, my name is Jackie White and you can find me here making 3D art quilts and other fun quilty things.
I am thrilled to be back again showing you how to make a fun and practical lap quilt.
Let's get started:
Supplies - from the Lost and Found collection
1/2 yard of each of Gray Round, Pink Round, Pink Labels, Black Dot, Pink Dot and Basic Shades Slate.
1 yard of each Black Main and Pink Main
2 yards for backing
2 yards batting
Instructions:
Cut 12 - 4 1/2 " squares of each of the following colours: Gray Round, Pink Round, Pink Dot and Black Dot.
Borders: Cut 3 1/2" strips out of the Black Main. Cut 2" strips out of Pink Labels.
Binding: Cut 2 1/2" strips out of Basic Shades Slate.
From the Pink Main strips, cut 48 - 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" , and attach to one side of each of the coloured " squares. Again from the Pink Main strip, cut 48 6 1/2" x 2 1/2" and attach to an adjacent side of the square as shown. Do this for all squares.
You are going to assemble 2 different blocks, each 12 1/2" and make 6 of each. Here is the first block:
Here is the second block:
Arrange by taking each set of 6 blocks and from one pile, put one block with the black polka dots at the top, and from the other pile put a block with the black polka dots at the bottom. Alternate blocks with 3 across and 4 down.
To do borders, attach the 2" Pink Labels to top and bottom and then sides. Then attach the 3 1/2" strips of Black Main to sides and top and bottom.
Quilt, and bind with the Basic Shades Slate.
