Peek in my fridge?

Hi, it's me, Tracy from 3LittleBrds! I am back to share a little project I did recently.

Normally, I don't let people look in my fridge. It is pretty on the outside, but I have two boys and a hubby that never put things back in the same place. Or they put their leftovers in with no cover so the food dries out... You understand, right?

Well, I had this idea as I was washing dripped, sticky barbecue sauce off of my shelves that it would be awfully nice to have a shelf liner in my fridge that I could rotate out, or wipe off when I had a little mess. Or maybe I could inspire my kids to be a little bit neater if the refrigerator wasn't quite so... generic...boring.

Then it hit me! Why not use some laminated fabric on the shelves to pretty up my fridge and make me smile?

 Festive Fridge

What do you think? It was really easy to do and my family all think it is very happy!

Now I can't give exact directions, because your refrigerator is not the same size as mine. But I can tell you what to do so you can have fabric in your fridge too!

clear shelf

You simply clear off a shelf and measure the glass to get the dimensions you need to cut. Lay the fabric down and put everything back in. That's it!

happy shelves

Now I know that some of you will think I am crazy... and some of you will think, boy she has a lot of pickles! (yeah, I didn't know I had that many open jars until I cleaned out the fridge and put them all together... <sigh>) But when you have been sewing for as long as I have, you get quite a collection of fabric that you bought for something and never got around to it. Why not use up some of that stash so you can buy more? Right?

  7. This is so cute! I am looking at doing this to my fridge. I have seen where people use this vinyl fabric or plastic placemats. Can you tell me does the vinyl fabric move at all for you? I am looking for something that will not move too much but no sure what to choose.
