In love pincushion

I am Nati and I blog over at Nati’s Little Things. Today I would like to share with you the “In love” pincushion.
I made this pincushion using fabrics from the Sweetest Thing collection from Riley Blake, I used a few of the fabrics in the collection, but if you are up for making one, make sure you check out all the fabric in this collection, it is adorable.
In addition I made a matching needle case for my sewing room. It is a very handy needle case with pockets to carry things around. You can find the tutorial on the needle case over at my blog (click here).
The pincushion is constructed with a simple paper pieced pattern. It has a tricky bit at the start with some small pieces but after that is very straightforward. There are two versions of the pincushion, a smaller one and a bigger one with piping.
The instructions I have included below are for a 5inch square pincushion with piping, but you can decide to do the non-piping version and/or amend the size of the paper piecing to your own will. The tutorial is on PDF format, so you can print it out to use while you are working.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial as much as I enjoyed making it to share with you! And please do not forget to pay a visit to my blog, let me know what you thought on the pincushion and grab the needle case tutorial.
