Ready to try an adorable vintage needlework technique?  

 Printer Friendly Used before elastic was ever invented, smocking is a simple embroidery method to gather fabric into a decorative pattern at cuffs, necklines, bodices and so on.  The tucks and pleats allow the fabric to stretch.    Let's get started with our "Smockery"!  Grab a scrap of cotton gingham fabric, with the checks at least 3/8" to 1/2" wide, a wide-eye needle, some floss, glue stick and a pair of scissors, and you're ready to go!     Instructor:  Deonn @ Quiltscapes Supplies:  Practice on a small swatch of gingham print ... more

Hiyah! I'm Anorina from Samelia's Mum and today I'm sharing a quilt which I made with the fun new line called Scenic Route. Within my group of friends and family, there have been a few baby boys born over the past few months. Generally, I find that selecting fabric and making quilts for baby girls so much easier than for boys... and then I discovered Scenic Route. Hello there, Jessica here from MamaJama Quilts. I have been experimenting with Riley Blake Laminate fabric and found so many fun ways to use it. I would like to share one of these ideas with you: Reusable Grocery Bags! These finished bags have a reinforced bottom for stability and can be thrown in the washer and dryer on a low setting for easy cleaning.   Start by selecting two contrasting fabrics.
