Diane spent her childhood in an old farmhouse in rural Ontario. When she wasn’t collecting bugs or running through fields, she was drawing and making things. Her love of fabrics and surface design came from her mother who worked from home as a seamstress. Diane learned to sew early and designed her own toys from the scraps of colourful fabrics her mother gave her. This sparked a love for fabrics and designing toy and doll patterns. She has always been inspired by the simple life they lived.

As an adult, she spent many years creating one-of-a-kind art quilts that were all created on an old Brother’s sewing machine.

Diane is a self-taught artist and crafter. Although she no longer lives in an old farmhouse, she still lives in rural Ontario and has passed on her love of sewing to her son, who helps test pattern designs. She is inspired by nature, old fashioned gardens and everything mid-century modern.
